Better Than me

I want my body to disappear. Why does it betray me?

Being treated as an object is always painful. An object that can be judged and compared. You start hating yourself, wanting to become someone else. That’s not something we are born with.

The epidemic of bulimia and anorexia is an effect of the cultural myth, that what we call beautiful is framed by certain people and for certain purposes. I am one of 70-90% of females imprisoned in the idea of being a piece of flesh or an object they are unhappy with. Nowadays, teen girls are more afraid of gaining weight than they are of cancer, nuclear war, or losing a parent.

I decided to investigate all of the parts of my body to be able to face and accept it. The imperfections dragged around are finally proudly valued.
