Anna Kieblesz is an artist working across various mediums and intersecting them with one another. Photography, performance, light, installation and textile are all tools for her experiments. The core trajectories within her artistic inquiry are set on bodily experiences, vulnerabilities and the function of photography.
She graduated from Photography department of the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague in 2018 and Master Fine Art programme at Piet Zwart Instituut in Rotterdam in 2024. She’s based in Amsterdam.
In her work, Anna is systematically dissecting herself in the reflexive dimension of an artistic tool-box, often approached from an existential perspective. By translating her research into materials, she addresses it back to the body. Understanding the somatic qualities and visceral affects happens by connecting with the audience. Relationship between the inside and outside is in constant flux. Our identities are not just abstract concepts, but are embodied experiences that shape the way we move through the world. As the body is the mediator of any experience, it is not just the center of the action but also its creator. Inquiring into situations of discomfort, embarrassment, trauma or shame is the basis for Anna’s explorations.
